The GUAB Team would firstly like to wish our members, their families and our supporters a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

The team of volunteers are parents themselves of disabled children and work all year round to deliver the school holiday programs as well as extra activities, improve the activities on offer and complete funding applications and fund raise. A lot of hours of work have gone into collating the required paperwork required and organising the charity behind the scenes.

It has been a very very busy year for guab. Becoming a charity is a huge step and should allow us to access more funding, this has meant the team has had to produce a number of required documents and forms, learning as we go! The team running the group are all new to volunteering and running such a group and we feel a great job has been done and we want to keep improving and learning as a team.

This year a new leaflet was produced as well as improvements to our webpage. The group has done well collecting the tokens in the newspaper and has also had some other successful funding applications and kind donations made to us. The schpock shop has been selling the donated items and is bringing in much needed funds, thank you to all who have donated and please keep donating! We hope some more money will be raised by promises to pledge money instead of Christmas cards. We have had great fun at our activities and have welcomed some new families to the group too.

In the coming year we want to continue to deliver our regular popular activities as well as new activities and welcome ideas from all our members. We would be grateful if you are able to pledge a penny tin for 2017! In the new year we will be running an exciting raffle with some fabulous prizes to be had. We will be holding our first AGM and we also have plans to offer a new weekend session and hopefully will be ready to share the details early on in 2017!
